Day... - Oh hell I lost count

I think last I heard it was day 75 or something. I don't know. I haven't been keeping count because I hear that makes it drag on and on. I do have tickers and I do have a calendar and I look at those every so often to make sure I know what day of the week it is.

And yes, I am the biggest slacker EVER!! I have not posted on here in I don't know how long and I have not been keeping things updated. Sorry!! I have been a bit busy. Trying to survive this deployment is harder than I thought it would be, and it has been keeping me busier than I thought possible.

Although there does seem to be some slackening in the tension of how much I have going on. Fewer and fewer things are coming up lately, but I am still managing to keep busy, what with two puppies quickly growing and all!!

So here is the latest update. I got some horrid news that I can't share with anyone just yet, but I will as soon as I am able to. The furniture for the house is slowly trickling in... The last of it is still on a boat somewhere in the pacific. Ladeda. The dogs are growing like weeds. I swear we just went to the vet and Mia was 25 pounds and Molly was 21 pounds. I had to take Molly to the ER vet because she was getting sick and I won't take chances with my fuzzy children. Turns out she has a simple eye infection, but they want me to scoop poop up into this tiny plastic container and let them check for more parasites. Um.. no.. We see her vet on Tuesday.. she is fine. But she weights a whopping 30 pounds now!! Ten pounds in less than three weeks!! Good lord I can only imagine what Mia weighs now.

Aside from that, just staying busy. I have been getting more into scrap booking these days too. I always swore I never would, but now I am having fun with it. Now if my -husband- would take and send me more pictures to add to it, I would have even more fun with it. But alas, he is a man, and a marine, and both of those facts keep him a little busy. Ah well.. maybe one day. ha! Kidding baby.. just kidding.

Coming up I am doing a neat project with the wives of Nate's unit. I can't go into detail just yet, because the husband will be reading this soon, but when its all said and done, I will post up the pictures from that shoot. I am excited!!

And some more good news about the puppies. Except for once every now and again... WE ARE POTTY TRAINED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not totally house broken but we have figured out that peeing in our crate -IS- a bad idea. Thank freakin god!! I was getting really tired of going through paper towels so fast and not being able to keep any in the kitchen. So Woohoo!! We can pee outside now...

Now, here are the puppy videos.. I know you were looking for them!!

Day 18 - 31

Yes I know. Slacker.. SLACKER!! I am. I'm sorry!! I have been trying to keep busy and what not and just have not had time to sit down and write anything. Plus, there is nothing of major importance to really report.

I could report on the puppies. Ok puppies...

We have discovered that yes, infact we DO have worms. EWWIE!!! But have no fear!! Our vet is on the case and gave them both this yellow crap that made them pee A LOT and it stank really bad. Still trying to get the smell out of the house and that was the 17th. They also got their second set of shots. Mia (who I will now refer to as my porker) is a whopping 16.1 pounds, while little princess Molly is a fragile 15.6. OH MY GOD!!! They were like barely ten pounds not to long ago. Man how time flies right?

Molly has picked up on the potty training thing, and Mia is lagging. Shes as much a slacker as her momma I am thinking. Damn slackers. But whats so funny is that if Mia has an accident, Molly will scold her. Yes thats right. She sits there and barks at Mia and poor Mia is all huddled in the corner. Too bad the video camera battery was dead the last time else I would have a video of that for everyone.

Instead I have other adventures. We went outside and plaaaaaaaaaayed... we went up the stairs, hopped in the tub, played on the air mattress and then tumbled down the stairs. Then we took a nap. All that is wrapped into three videos for you to watch. Enjoy!!!

Day 12 - 18

God I am such a slacker!!! I have been trying to keep up with puppies and work on this website and keep busy that I totally slacked on taking pictures. Ughs!! I DO have some videos but I didn't do one for each day. Just trying to stay busy. Nothing major going on really. I miss Nate (duh) and I am having good and bad days as I suspected I would. But!! we are 18 days into this thing and I haven't fallen over dead yet! I may just make it.

So yea since I am a total slacker and have had nothing worth writing about going on the last few days I figure I will just post some videos for whomever to watch. Of course, of the puppies. You tell me if they are getting to be chunkers!!

Day 10 - 11

Not a whole lot to say really. Been trying to keep busy and the puppies peeing is getting better, though they still have accidents of course. And I did some more videos for anyone who cares to take a look.

Enjoy !!!

Day 9

It has been a hell of a day. To make a long story short, very little has gone my way. I needed to get something scanned for Nate and the people at FedEx Kinko's failed. When I got home to check, it wasn't on there. WTF?! And now, the dogs are peeing on the floor within five minutes of coming back inside from a long outside adventure, where they DO pee a lot as it is. So I have no idea what their deal is. I was having a moment or two at the brunch this morning also. There were just so many people crammed into a tiny space and at first no one was really saying much to me except the CO's wife and the FRO and his wife. Don't get me wrong, they are all very nice people and I love talking to them, but when you are standing in a room full of people and it feels as if a large majority of them are trying to walk around and away from you, it makes the anxiety go up a bit. Thankfully Nate had the greatest timing ever. He called just as I was going to try to find a bathroom to calm down and I got to step outside away from the crowd. We talked for a bit and it made the rest of the brunch go fine. I got to meet some very nice ladies and hopefully will be setting up a puppy play date with one and going to BINGO with a few others. So there are some pluses to it. But even still, the anxiety was still there. Add to everything that I am pmsing and its a recipe for disaster. So we are going to take a nice long walk to the mail box and possibly to the beach to clear my head and to get all their little pee pee accidents out of the way. God I wish Nate was here right now.

On happier news, I am going to try to post some doggie vids (mainly so Nate can see)

Day 7 - 8

I have been kind of slacking in the picture taking department the last few days. There has been so much on my mind and if you know me then you know it has been about my husband. My mom left last night to head back to Atlanta and is safe and sound. Though I had a pretty rough night last night. It was the first actual night alone since Nate left for Iraq. I cried, I sobbed, I blubbered at myself and I talked to some wonderful people who helped me through it. Although I still miss him so much, I know that this is all part of it. I just need to keep moving forward and keep myself occupied until he gets home.

So tonight after feeding and playing with the puppies I headed to Wal*Mart. Now I love Wal*Mart and I love Sams Club. I went to both. I got a bunch of stuff to put into Nate's next care package and I got the camcorder. So I -may- interchange between movies and pictures depending on how things go.

Tomorrow the maintenance crew is coming by to fix a light and the locksmith is coming to fix our front door... around 7am. Hopefully I can have the girls pretty calm and napping by then so that they don't have them underfoot.

Then after that I get to head over to the shelter to work on a website for them. Apparently theirs is frozen and they kind of have no clue about websites or how to do much on them. So I offered to help out where I could.

And that is about it. I did get to talk to Nate for a bit this afternoon and as usual, I loved every second of it. Apparently he is sick, which I am not happy about (more so because I can't be there to help make him feel better). Also he is suppose to be going to speak to his CO about his re-enlistment. He said that just about everyone who signed it gave him stellar remarks and that the rest gave him the generic remarks just to get it off their desk, so to speak. But either way, the really important folks put down some wonderful comments about him and he sounded pretty excited about it. I am so proud of him!! I can't wait to hear what the CO has to say to him.

And speaking of CO, I have a brunch this weekend at the Co's wife's home. Its for all the wives who's first deployment is this one. A get together to make new friends and so on. I... am... NERVOUS!!! I do not do so great in large crowds and there are suppose to be about 25 or so people there. AH!!! But no matter... I am forcing myself to go, get out of the house, and meet these people. After all that was one of my big arguing points for moving into base housing to begin with, to be closer to the unit and other military families.

We will see how all that goes. Until next time!!! Poof!

Day 3 - 6

It has been a crazy crazy CRAZY last few days. Nothing but running here and there and everywhere. The long and the short of it all is that we are finally moved into our new house, we finally have our puppies and my momma leaves tomorrow =( I hate it, but she has to go home. Ah well I seem to have a full couple of weeks coming up so that should help.

I haven't been able to post due to lack of computer and net. We picked up the pups sat instead of waiting til sun or monday because we were so tired of listening to the loser neighbors all around us, including upstairs. My mom was about to go knock some heads together and finally agreed it would be in our best interest if we just slept on the air mattress in our empty new house.

Which lead to a new discovery. Not only do I now have two beautiful, trouble making, peeing every five seconds puppies, I also have mice. AH!! Big... ugly.. field mice. Grr and I cannot find those no view mouse traps ANYWHERE. The search is still on though.

Besides that, things are moving right along. I still miss my husband on a daily basis, but I am not crying at night like I was the first few days. Mom has kept me pretty busy. We will see how I hold up when she leaves. I mean I do still have my moments. Something reminds me of him or I see something that he would like and I just want to bawl my eyes out no matter where I am at. But I have done pretty well.. I save it for when I can have my break downs in private. I know it will get better. I just need to hang in there, and I am... for better or worse.

Anyway, enough of that, let me get these pictures updated. They aren't all that great but hey!! I don't care.. haha

January 24, 2009

Mom and I were on our way to Ewa Beach to pick up the puppies, talking and minding our own business when this VW Bug pulled it. Glad I had my camera!! It was crazy!! Its hard to see in this picture but man were those colors bright!!

This is Molly on her first day home with us. She had found a spot to take a little nap between a box and a Ross bag. Once she was done with her nap she went and found a nice spot in the middle of my living room floor to pee. Thanks Molly!!

This is Mia. She figured that sleeping in the middle of the floor was the best ever. Right in the line of traffic. Little miss speed bump she is. She too followed her sisters idea and found a nice spot in the middle of the floor to leave me a surprise. Thank heavens it was easier to see than pee on our floor. Ughs!!

January 25, 2009

Both of them opted to sleep together this day. The floor is very cold for them right now. They do not share very well though so this was a nice, rare treat!!

The little runt, Molly, opted to take over the bed in the living room as you can see. Nice and comfy the little devil.

Mia hadn't quite figured out that sateen pillows are slippery and puppies will slide down. She kept trying to get up there too and every time she just kept sliding down. The foot in the picture is my mom going over to help her out. It was all very amusing.

January 26, 2009

These are the movers that did our house. They were sooo so sweet and funny and had great personalities. They were super fast too and took care of everything. They really did a great job!!

January 27, 2009

This is my office so far. Totally undone, a mess and disorganized, BUT!! its in my NEW HOUSE so I can deal with it. One box at a time, right?! YAY!!

Day Two

Today my mother and I went on an adventure. First thing was to do the walk-thru at the new house. I was a little shocked to find out that we are suppose to find things as we live there, mark them down on this paper then call and let the office know and they would fix it. There were a few things wrong with the house, but it wasn't anything more than cosmetic. So we went through and marked everything down and along with finding out where our mailbox is, I will let them know monday after we move in. YAY!!!

After that, we unloaded all the stuff for the puppies that are due to come home either tomorrow or sunday and wiped the counters and all the wood down. I will have a project coming up soon to put a soft pad on the window seat in the living room until we get real furniture.

Then we had to find Home Depot. THATS where the real adventure began. We went all the way down to the airport then turned around and headed back the other direction. Then we saw it from the highway and took the next exit. Wrong!! We drove all over the place and finally retraced our path back, took a different turn and BAM!! Found this entire shopping area that is closer to us than going all the way to Honolulu. Less confusing too once you actually know how to get there.

So the reason we were going there was to repair a hole in the wall at the old apartment that my chair had made. Then we left and went to do the walk thru, moved a friend of ours car into our garage and finally headed BACK towards Home Depot.

I have to say, I love my mom so much. If it weren't for her I would have already lost my mind. She kept me going all day and I only had a few soft moments instead of many of them. Also, she wanted to get us a microwave because we don't have one. I told her we didn't NEED one now that I knew the commissary carried the stove top popcorn. But she wanted to get us something for the house. I could kill her I swear.

We now have this comfy, beautiful back porch furniture. Four chairs and a table with a firepit in the middle. And mom said to take two of the four chairs into the house to use until we get real furniture. I am soo excited!! It comes in on sunday, then the movers on monday. Tomorrow we are going to pack up some more, get organized, move a few things and probably camp the night at the new house depending on if we have the dogs yet or not.

So the object of my picture for today is the begining stage of the hole in the wall behind my desk. All I could think of taking.. haha

Jan. 23, 2009

This is the hole in the wall in its begining stages of being repaired. There is a bit of cardboard which is held in place by some wire that hubby aquired from work that is tied to my desk. The pink stuff is spackle and should dry white. Its just funny to see all this white and a big pink spot in the middle of the wall...

First Full Day

So today is my first full, actual day without my husband. He is on deployment in the Marine Corps for who knows how long. My guess would be seven to eight months. If anyone outside my ‘circle’, if you will, ends up reading this, let me say this is more for my and my husbands benefit rather than anything else. So rambling is possible.

Thank goodness my mom is here. Had it not been for her I would not have made it last night. I slept alright with medication as per usual, but it was still rough not having my husband next to me. I miss him. My heart hurts, but I know there are a lot of good things to come with this deployment. Bittersweet has been used many times.

Prior to him leaving, we had agreed to do a modified photography project I heard about on a forum that I am a part of. The project has you taking a picture each day for one year. Well I missed out on the start of it, but I decided to take one picture every day for this entire deployment. I intend to post them up here at LEAST weekly for each day, if not daily.

So, that's all I have for now. I am not a huge blogger, but maybe I will get more into it. Below are the pictures for yesterday and today.

Jan 21, 2009

This is Jeffrey. I picked him up for my husband when he broke his elbow. Later on we got another bear for him that we named Jessica. That isn't how he spells it but I don't remember. Anyway, I snuggled up with Jeffrey for my first night without hubby and thought this was cute. It reminds me of him... silly zombie book!

Jan 22, 2009

Yes!! Those are our new house keys and garage opener. I picked them up today and I am soooo excited! The house is clean (which it wasn't when we first looked at it) and I just can't wait to get in there. YAY!!
